- Forty-five green feathers: Symbolizes the year of Indonesian independence, 1945.
- Eight black rays: Represents the month of Indonesian independence, which is August.
- Seventeen white cogwheels: Symbolizes the day of Indonesian independence, the 17th.
- Curved triangle: Represents the Trinity or the Holy Trinity, the center of Catholic faith.
- Ancient Javanese motto in the triangle: Bakuning Hyang Mrih Guna Santyaya Bhakti, meaning “based on divinity, pursuing knowledge to be dedicated to society
