Bachelor of Mathematics

The Bachelor of Mathematics program is one of the study programs under the Faculty of Science, established by the Decree of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia No. 4/D/O/1993 dated April 20, 1993.

Currently, there are 14 full-time lecturers, 50% of whom hold doctoral degrees from domestic (ITB) and international universities (University of Queensland, Twente, UPSI). Two lecturers are certified ASAI (Associate of the Society of Actuaries of Indonesia), and three others are in the process of obtaining certification.

The program collaborates with the Society of Actuaries of Indonesia (PAI) to align five of the seven ASAI exam subjects with our courses. Our primary focus is the real-world application of mathematics in finance and industry through courses such as Population Dynamics, Portfolio Optimization, Quality Control, Financial Econometrics, Nonlinear Programming, and Biostatistics.

As of August 31, 2021, the Bachelor of Mathematics program holds an “Excellent” accreditation from BAN-PT. The four available specializations offer strong academic and professional preparation:

Actuarial Science

• Focused on mathematics, probability, statistics, and finance for risk management.
• The only private university program in Indonesia where students can transfer their course grades (minimum A−) to five official ASAI exam subjects:
• These five courses account for 5 out of 7 exams required for the ASAI designation.

Data Analytics

• Focused on data modeling, visualization, and data engineering.
• The Data Modeling with Python course prepares students for the CISDM (Certified International Specialist Data Modelling) certification in collaboration with Cybertrend Data Academy.
• The Data Visualization course prepares students for the CISDV (Certified International Specialist Data Visualization) certification, also in collaboration with Cybertrend.

Optimization and Dynamics

• Focused on modeling solutions for problems in industry, healthcare, and finance.

Pure Mathematics and Teaching

• Designed to prepare future academics with strong foundations in pure mathematics and pedagogy.
