The Parahyangan Catholic University (Unpar) Accounting Team represented by two teams won the 1st and 3rd prize in the event Achmad Yani Accounting Competition (AAC) 2017 held on 7-8 February 2017. Team 1 consisting of Teddy Jonathan, Elvira Natalia Mulyono, and Stephanie won the third place trophy; while the team 2 consisting of Vania Natasha, Nadia Beautiful Rosalina, and Francisca Anna Elizabeth won first place trophy and at the same time maintained Unpar’s superiority. Team 2 that managed to maintain its consistency since the initial round has always led in terms of the points, while team 1 managed to regain some lost ground so that it could rank 3rd.
The competition was followed by a number of universities located in Bandung and environs. The material tested in this competition covers materials related to Introduction to Accounting, Intermediate Financial Accounting, Advanced Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Cost Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, Auditing , Taxation, Islamic Accounting, Government Accounting and General Accounting.
There were four rounds held in this competition, namely the preliminary round, quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals. The Preliminary round consists of a U C 1000 stage concerning the multiple choice items done individually as well as case studies solved in the team session. The quarter-final round consists of a fast–and–furious stage, teams that qualify are required to work on answering questions and a round fight while in the semi-final (bid and win ), participants were given questions in essay form.
Participants who successfully qualified for the finals must pass 4 stages which include: the “Maximize Your Knowledge” round in which participants will have to present a case given by the committee; the “Gain or Loss” round which is a round where participants work on the problems that are read out orally by the committee; the “Shocking Box” round where participants select a box containing questions; and the “Race in Minutes” round that presents a matter of conquest/round fight.
This success is expected to encourage students to become more motivated at Unpar to uphold the name of Unpar in similar competitions, in particular the Bachelor of Accounting study program (Prodi) can always maintain its existence as one of the best Accounting Study Programs in Indonesia.
