Two alumni of the Faculty of Information Technology and Science of Parahyangan Catholic University (FTIS Unpar) were able to attain a high level of achievement at a prestigious international competition, Design Challenge ChIuXiD 2016 held in Jakarta from April 13-15, 2016. This competition is part of the 2nd International Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and User Experience (UX) Conference.
The team that consists of Dominikus Dwipranarko (FTIS Unpar 2010), Raditya Pradipta (FTIS Unpar 2011) and Vania Andriani (FTIP Unpad 2011) managed win first prize as well as the people’s choice of CHIuXiD – 2016 Design Challenge. In this competition, students were asked to solve actual urban issues in Indonesia such as the environment, infrastructure, transportation, health and so on. The issue raised by the team guided by Dr. Johanna Renny Octavia Hariandja (a lecturer of FTI Unpar) is the issue of DAMRI public bus, the created a mobile app to enable users to have the Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) and location of the DAMRI bus so that they don’t have to wait too long.
CHIuXiD is an international seminar in the field of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI/User Experience (UX) that provides a forum for academicians and professionals from all over Indonesia and other countries to share and learn HCI/UX development in their respective countries, demonstrate the newest interactive services and products, discuss obstacles as well as their ways of overcoming them, and innovations toward effective interactions in the physical and digital world. This conference was held by the CHI UX community in Indonesia (Indonesia ACM SIGCHI Chapter) and supported by BINUS University.
