The Faculty of Law of Parahyangan Catholic University (FH UNPAR) once again reached high international achievement in its participation in the 2015 Asia Cup International Law Moot Court Competition.
The event was hosted by the Japanese state department on August 27-28, 2015. It covered the entire Asian continent, with participants from 10 separate countries. The competition was divided into two: national and international. One university from each country was chosen to represent their respective country. For this year the team from the Faculty of Law of Parahyangan Catholic University was chosen to represent the Repblic of Indonesia.
The Faculty of Law of Parahyangan Catholic University’s team that consisted of Adrian Panata (2011200065), Joselyne Lesmana (2013200250), Anastasia Anggita (2014200203) and Merlyn Margaretha (2014200180) managed to win the best memorial prize and ranked third overall. In addition the oralist competing also managed to make the top ten as best oralist.
According to the team coach, who was also UNPAR’s graduate, John Lumban Tobing, success was attained thanks to a good cooperation between alumni, lecturers and the entire Parahyangan Catholic University’s academic community. In addition the team’s departure for Japan is due to the financial support from UNPAR and sponsors, namely: PT. Medco Energy and Adnan Kelana Haryanto & Hermanto’s Law Office.
This achievement will hopefully become a motivation for other students to try to achieve similar success sometime in the future. In addition, it should act as a spur to the performance of student organizations and other student community in The Faculty of Law of Parahyangan Catholic University, especially for students who join the Parahyangan International Law Society.
