Located in the Rectorate Meeting Room, the Mathematics Study Program of Parahyangan Catholic University (Unpar) received a visit from Scott Davis (READI Co-op Officer) and Dian Augustini (READI Indonesian Cooperative Education Officer), on Thursday (26/1) then. The visitors were received by Paulus Tjiang, Ph.D (Vice Rector for Academic Affairs), Dr. Ferry Jaya Permana, ASAI (Dean of FTIS), Dr. Dharma Lesmono (Head of Mathematics Study Program) and Taufik Limansyah, MT (Secretary of Mathematics Study Program).
On that occasion, Scott Davis explained the Co-op program that has been running successfully for 60 years at the University of Waterloo. Basically, the Co-op program is a program that provides opportunities for students to work in companies while completing their university education. The program is integrated with the curriculum and is held for 4-6 times over a period of 5 years, respectively for 12 weeks.
READI (Risk Management, Actuarial Science Sustainability and Economic Development in Indonesia ) is a development assistance program from the Canadian government through the University of Waterloo to assist the development of Risk Management, Economic Security and Actuarial Science in Indonesia (2015-2020). In practice READI has been working in conjunction with Otoritas Jasa Keuangan / the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and 9 universities in Indonesia, including Unpar. One of the objectives of the READI project is to overcome the shortage of actuaries in Indonesia by providing opportunities for high school students to continue their education in the field of Actuarial studies and training for lecturers in various courses within the field.
