On Saturday, February 21, 2015, the Informatics Engineering Study Program Student Association in cooperation with its Study Program held the XIII Programming Competition. This is a national level programming competition intended for secondary school level which has been held for 13 consecutive years. Unlike other secondary school level competition that focuses on material gained at school, this competition focuses on the skills not commonly taught at high school. Judging from the participants each year, it proves that many high school students have good programming skills. It is interesting to note that this year, 2 junior high school students participated and surprisingly became champions. Therefore, this competition is an event for high school, even junior high school with an interest in programming to test their ability.
The challenge of this year’s competition consist of finishing 10 questions through developing a computer program for 5 hours without a break. The evaluation is automatic by using a computer program capable of judging the correctness of the program developed by the participants based on previously given test items specifications.
This year a total of 32 participants from 19 schools took part. Participating schools came from Bandung, Jakarta, Garut, Cirebon, Semarang, Sragen, Surabaya and Jambi.
