Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Sosial (BPJS) Kesehatan (Social Security Administrator for Health Care) conducted socialization/familiarization event to promote understanding of health care on Wednesday (29/7) at the Audio visual Room (Mgr. Geisse Lecture Theatre) of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Parahyangan Catholic University (FISIP UNPAR). The socialization was attended by UNPAR’s employees. It was not the first event as a similar event had been conducted last Thursday (9/7) at UNPAR.
As a law-abiding educational institution, Parahyangan Catholic University has to open up the possibility of its employee’s involvement in BPJS Kesehatan membership. This is in line with the law of the Republic of Indonesia/UU RI No 24 2011 concerning the Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Sosial (BPJS) /Social Security Administrator, which states the compulsory nature of BPJS membership. Citizens who do not become members, and institutions that do not register their employees as BPJS members are punishable by law.
The event was presented by Asep Ria Akas (BPJS Kesehatan KCU Bandung marketing unit) and moderated by the Vice Rector of Human Capital and Student Affairs, Dr. Paulus Sukapto, in person. The event initiated by the Personnel Bureau, was very interactive in nature, as proven by the large number of questions on the procedures of health care conducted by the BPJS. In addition to questions, there were also a lot of input coming from lecturers and employees of Parahyangan Catholic University.
Asep Ria Akas stated that BPJS belongs to Indonesian citizens, therefore, input given by its users will make BPJS better.
